Jobscan alternative: one-time payment vs monthly subscription
If you want a Jobscan alternative that charges once instead of monthly, Resume ATS Optimizer (this site) costs $9 one time per resume-and-job analysis, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.[7] That is less than one month of Jobscan Premium ($49.95 per month, per an article on Jobscan's own site) when you need only a handful of job-specific checks, but a subscription costs less per check if you analyze many postings.[1][2] Published prices, the break-even point, and refund terms are below, each with its source and access date.
Jobscan, Resume Worded, and Rezi are names of their respective owners. This page is not affiliated with them. Prices were read from the sources listed at the bottom on 2026-10-04 and plans change, so confirm on the vendor's own site before paying.

Jobscan's own plan page did not load for our reader on the day we checked, so the Jobscan figures come from two articles on Jobscan's site dated 2026-02-23 and 2026-06-18, which agree with each other.[1][2] One-time payment is not unique to us: Rezi lists a one-time Lifetime plan, although it is a resume builder rather than a per-job checker.[6]
Break-even: when does a subscription win?
This site sells one analysis per $9 purchase. That makes the arithmetic simple. This is our own calculation from the prices above, assuming each analysis is a different job posting and that a subscription's scan allowance covers your needs.
| Job-specific analyses in one month | Pay per analysis at $9 | $49.95 monthly plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $9 | $49.95 |
| 3 | $27 | $49.95 |
| 5 | $45 | $49.95 |
| 6 | $54 | $49.95 |
| 10 | $90 | $49.95 |
Paying per analysis is cheaper up to five postings in a month; from six the monthly plan is cheaper. If you are applying widely every week, a subscription fits better. If you are targeting a few specific roles, or you do not want a recurring charge to remember to cancel, a one-time payment fits better.
What you get, as stated by each seller
- Resume ATS Optimizer: a keyword match report with matched and missing lists and the printed score formula, missing keywords sorted into honestly claimable versus real gaps, and an ATS-safe rewrite, both delivered as PDFs. It does not include unlimited scans, a resume builder, or other features not listed on the home page.[7]
- Jobscan: Jobscan's article describes Premium as including its Match Report (analysis against a job description across 30-plus parameters), an AI Optimize tool, ATS detection, and integration with its job tracker. It also describes a free tier of 5 scans per month.[2]
- Resume Worded Pro: unlimited resume and LinkedIn reviews, AI rewrite features, 100-plus ATS-optimized templates, line-by-line analysis, and an ATS resume checker.[5]
- Rezi: a resume builder and editor with a Rezi Score and keyword targeting; the free plan limits these, Pro and Lifetime unlock all features.[6]
Refunds and cancellation
- Jobscan: cancel from the Account page and the account drops to a free membership when the current billing period ends. Cancelling does not issue a refund automatically. Refunds are granted only to Premium members who dispute within 2 calendar days of the billing period start and have not used the service in that period, with a 3.5 percent fee on approved refunds.[4]
- Resume Worded: the plans page says cancel anytime and gives no explicit refund policy text.[5]
- Resume ATS Optimizer: a 7-day money-back guarantee; you email support and are refunded.[7]
When a subscription tool is the better choice
- You expect to check six or more different postings in a month.
- You want ongoing tools such as a job tracker, LinkedIn review, or a resume builder with templates, which a per-analysis report does not include.
- You like iterating many times on one resume and want unlimited re-scans, if the plan you pick allows it.
When a one-time payment fits
- You are targeting a few specific roles and want one thorough pass per role.
- You want the missing keywords, the computed formula, and a rewrite in a single deliverable.
- You do not want a recurring charge or a cancellation to remember.
Checklist before you pay for any ATS checker
- Scan limits. How many analyses per month or in total, and what happens at the limit?
- Price per analysis. Divide the price by the number of postings you will really check.
- Transparency. Does it list matched and missing keywords and explain how the percentage is computed? Read what an ATS score does and does not mean.
- Honesty of the rewrite. Does it avoid adding skills you do not have?
- Refund and cancellation terms, read in advance.
- Data handling. Here, pasted text is sent to an AI provider (Google Gemini, or OpenAI as a fallback) to generate the report; the finished report is held for 48 hours and then deleted. See the privacy policy · Terms of Service · Refund Policy.
Many checkers also offer a limited free tier, such as Jobscan's 5 scans per month and Rezi's free plan above. Trying one on a single posting is a reasonable way to see what a report looks like before spending anything.[3][6]
